Melchior clan tour their sites

The Melchiors took advantage of the large
family gathering in Jerusalem for
Amit Melchior's bar mitzvah last week to complete
some unfinished business. Some 50 members of
the Melchior clan traveled by coach to the
Jerusalem Forest to belatedly inaugurate a
forest named after Michael's grandfather,
Rabbi Marcus Melchior, who was also Chief Rabbi of
Denmark. The original inauguration - planned
for some 30 years ago - was canceled because of
a snow storm. The coach then continued on to
the Ben Shemen Forest, where Rabbi Bent
Melchior visited for the first time a picnic
site and playground which was named in his
honor 15 years ago, on his 60th birthday.
