| The ancient town of Bet Guvrin, south of Beth Shemesh, flowered as a Jewish city until the Second Jewish War against the Romans from 132-135 CE. There is a series of enormous limestone caves with walls that are made of beige colored limestone. The caves were used as water cisterns, animal pens, burial, raising pigeons and, more recently, as one of the sets for the film Rambo III and not less important to celebrate RAFAEL's Bar Mitzva.. What a place! |
